It was an honour to volunteer again for this year’s version of the Youth of the Year. The Berowra Lions Club runs this event every year that allows students from high schools from around the district to participate. This program aims to foster and develop leadership skills while challenging participants to take a constructive role in the community. The quality of the 4 participants this year was superb and it is always hard for the judges to pick a winner. The participants covered topics in their prepared speeches such a Mental Health, The Environment, Ageism and Confidence in yourself.
I would like to congratulate Talia Moses from Loreto Normanhurst for winning this year’s Berowra Lions Youth of the Year and wish her all the success representing our district at the next level. I would also like to thank the other participants for their wonderful presentations, the Judges for volunteering their Sunday afternoon and the Berowra Lions Club for organising the event.
